Jardin Netherlands B.V. changes from cardboard packaging to plastic.
"The cardboard
packaging was not sufficient. We could not stack nor could we stock our
products outside. If it rained, you could forget about the cardboard
protection. All together this created a lot of damage."
As quality manager at Jardin, Richard Brinkman talks about his experiences with the MARK-project. Jardin Netherlands is one of the enthusiastic participants of the project Marketintroduction of Recycled plastic packaging (MARK). The other four are Ikea, PlasticsEurope, Isover and the Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer.
Company profile
The history of Jardin starts in the 70's as Industrial Mouldings. This company produces especially for the technical industry. Also plastic seats and back parts in metal frames are being made. Out of these activities the first adjustable chair is quickly made.
Production and development
In the production units in Rijen yearly hundreds of tons polypropylene is being used with the help of moulding machines to produce garden furniture. This varies from the well known stacking chair to extendable tables which are being assembled from different parts. Constantly the highest quality standards are being pursued and controls take place on all processes.
The assortment is constantly being improved, extended and adjusted to the demands of the consumer. Jardin sees product development as an important condition for maintaining and growth of its strong market position. Its strength is efficiency in production and logistic. All disciplines in the company play in this matter an important part.
